Qualify, Baileys Encore and Kirkstall Lane are the three to consider here and Qualify can lead them home. Of John Gosden¿s runners, the jockey booking of Jimmy Fortune would seem to suggest that Kirkstall Lane is the preferred entry. A son of Selkirk, he can handle the ground, and with the trainer landing a double at Newbury, he must be respected. The experience of Baileys Encore may be telling however. He stepped up on previous form when running a great race to be third at York last time on a similar surface to today¿s, and if similar improvement is found today, this slow maturing type can play a big part. Mick Channon¿s Qualify has been running consistently and has been placed on several occasions. He showed he handled cut in the ground at Haydock earlier in the season and can take this. Qualify can lose his maiden tag here.
