Verdict

Shamhoota is an obvious selection to beat Silver Bolt and Show Trial in a race that has cut up badly. This really is a poor turnout, with just three standing their ground, and the prize should be safely in the grasp of Shamhoota who was sent off as favourite on his debut at Newmarket recently. The son of Danzig, who cost $400,000 and holds an entry in the Middle Park, just basically ran out of steam in the closing stages, finishing third in the end, and is dropped back in trip here, which looks a wise move by Sir Michael Stoute. He will know more about the game this time, and is hard to oppose. Mick Channon's runner Show Trial has shown very little in two starts to date, while Silver Bolt is related to a winner over fences, and who knows, may be going that route himself one day. All in all, this has the appearance of a one-horse race, with Shamhoota the one to be on at very shorts odds unfortunately.
