An extremely tricky finale to solve and Convivial Spirit gets the nomination despite not having got his head in front in almost sixteen starts and the same amount of starts. Returning after over three months off the course last time, he never looked like troubling the winners but showed sufficient promise to suggest a win might not be too far away. King Of Connacht is the obvious danger having dropped back down to its last winning mark of 52. Extreme ground conditions do not seem to favour Mark Wellings charge and that would be the slight concern with conditions drying out. Mid Valley a three time winner on the fibre-sand would also make the shortlist given his consistency but he is not a frequent scorer. Thornaby Green is favourably treated considering marks he has held earlier in his career while Colton is another that could be given an each way chance given his previous form. Convivial Spirit is the selection to land the finale.
