Pretty Officer appeals as the most likely winner after a good second last time behind the well-backed Ornella. Prior to that performance, the selection had been noted doing its best work in the closing stages in apprentice handicaps over one mile and the extra two furlongs clearly suited him last time and will do again today. China Pink merits utmost consideration given connections and he has recieved the usual treatment from his yard, being campaigned over shorter trips to attain a handicap mark prior to being stepped up in trip for his handicap debut. Sarah's First posted her best effort this season last time out when finishing fifth over ten furlongs at Redcar, staying on from behind. Carmela Maria is another that takes a big step up in trip while the top weight Shraayef showed little in maidens but his trainer has displayed on more than one occasion this season that he has the ability to bring about significant improvement in his charges. Pretty Officer is the selection to come home in front.
