This is a right pin-stickers' affair, with 16 set to face the starter and no decent recent form for any of them, with only three having ever won before, with one of those being DECKCHAIR, who we marginally prefer to Native Dame and Dancing Welcome. It's a poor contest, but something has to win it, and Hugh Collingridge's filly has at least won a claimer and a seller over this trip, which is something you can't say about any of the others. The other two to have tasted success are Josiah Bartlett and Pressed For Time; all the wins they've had though have come on the Polytrack. Deckchair's been raced mainly on the all-weather, with just a couple of un-notable runs on grass, but from a high draw here, if quickly away, could have the others trailing in her wake. Native Dame was runner up in a similarly poor handicap last time out, and the blinkers which may have brought about some improvement stay on, and a similar effort could be enough to land this. Dancing Welcome will probably be more suited to this step back up to six furlongs; placed in her last two outings, those represent her best runs to date, and any further improvement could see her break her maiden tag at the 11th time of asking. It's not a race that's likely to live long in the memory, but it could go the way of Deckchair.
