Not the usual standard of maiden that the course hosts but intriguing fare nonetheless; LACROSSE is given the vote although Templar Knight and Whiterocks look to be interesting rivals. The selection missed an engagement on Friday but if conditions are deemed suitable here then he may take some beating. He has shown promise on his two runs to date (both at Lingfield) but coming from a very good turf family he should have no problem with the green stuff and should run well, although a longer trip will suit in time. Celtic Lass is open to improvement after just one start, Adnams didn't run badly last time out at Yarmouth but may be one for handicaps after this start, whilst Bourne was well-fancied last time at Sandown but disappointed badly in a hot race. The market should be watched in regard to the newcomers, with Mary Goodnight the most obvious contender. Jeremy Noseda's daughter of King's Best cost 50,000 guineas and although she looks to be starting off over a trip that looks far enough, her trainer must have a reason. Templar Knight looks an obvious contender; from a big yard, this son of Montjeu was well-backed on his debut but looked clueless; he will have learnt plenty from the outing. An open race, but it could be a chance for Lacrosse to hit the back of the net.
