In depth

Verdict

The selection here is Lakesdale, with Lisa Mona Lisa and, possibly, Louise Rayner rated as her biggest dangers. The selection improved for the step up to six furlongs last time when finishing second to Don't Tell Trigger at Chepstow. That rates as a fair effort in the context of this race and, as she looks likely to improve again for the step up in trip, she holds obvious claims. Looking at her opponents. Louise Rayner is not altogether unlikable on breeding so it is curious that she is making her racecourse debut in a seller. The Tipsy Creek filly, Faithful Flash, is also making her debut, so the market might provide the best clues as to her chances, while Tonight has looked green in both starts to date, each of them having come in a seller. Only a half-length separated Lisa Mona Lisa and General Nuisance when they met on their racecourse debuts at Doncaster in March, and the latter is now five pounds better off, not including his rider's seven-pound claim. That swings the balance back in favour of General Nuisance although, on breeding, Lisa Mona Lisa should appreciate today's seven-furlong trip - as opposed to the five at Town Moor - more than her rival. She should go well but, for reasons already given, the vote goes to Lakesdale.
