A strange looking event in which the bottom half of the field are out of the handicap - though only by 1lb. Guga scored over the C&D last June from this mark but has been inconsistent subsequently while Motty's Gift, who would have a chance on last season's form, has produced two poor runs at Kempton recently. Mayfair's Future is another in poor form while Renege The Joker has run badly over timber this year. Sail Home has shown herself to be much better on Fibresand and was beaten a long way at Doncaster last month so a process of elimination leads us to the aptly-named MOMENT OF CLARITY, who is moderate in the extreme but looks to have been given a chance by the handicapper and ran his best race for a long time at Nottingham on Friday. Paint The Town Red is a rare runner on turf but would have a chance on some of his earlier form as he stays the trip well.
