Oscar The Boxer, Mike Simmons and Le Forzien all look to have formbook claims and our preference is for the first named. Oscar The Boxer was not winning out of turn when successful at Ayr but he had had a hard season prior to that run so the three months off could well have freshened him up. Mike Simmons ran a fair second at Uttoxeter on Sunday. The cheekpieces had been reapplied on that occasion and off the same mark and over this longer trip - there have to be plenty of positives about his chances here. Le Forezien won a seller over much further and Richard Hobson replaces Bernie Wharf. Coltscroft showed improved form to be placed in a Market Rasen affair on a faster surface and could be capable of more. Come What Augustus has to brush up on his jumping in order to be competitive while Presenter has had many chances. A modest race in spite of big numbers and one in which Oscar The Boxer makes most appeal.
