In depth

Verdict

Chord is the pick with Lancer Scott and Raider Of The East the most feasible alternatives. Chord's second to Songe at Huntingdon appears to be the stand out line of form in this race and while he faced a hopeless task at Aintree in Grade 1 company, this assignment represents a massive drop in class. Lancer Scott is a half-brother to Quarrymount so the trip really should hold few fears. He hasn't looked to be getting home having travelled well in his early races. Raider Of The East is potentially very interesting. He failed to trouble the judge in a couple of Northern bumpers and at one stage in his life, raised 260 000 guineas at public auction. Kevin Morgan is having a fair season by his standards. Centenary is just very slow. Baaher attracted interest on hurdling debut at Southwell though never threatened to land the spoils. Disco Queen is plating class while Leonard Charles makes a hurdling debut having sunk without trace on the flat. An obvious opportunity that should be taken wholeheartedly by Chord.
