Verdict
Recent course and distance winner PRESENT GALE is given the vote to win at the expense of Bantry Bere and No Complaint. The selection is now nine pounds higher since gaining victory here last month and looks a horse on the upgrade. He had looked only moderate before winning his first race at Southwell last summer and has only been lightly raced since. He looks a developer and he certainly improved with cheek-pieces last time out. With further improvement still to come he is sure to be in contention. Bantry Bere has been a frustrating horse to follow and is not the most reliable. He is more than good enough on his day but he has to be treated with caution. No Complaint won back-to-back races at Sedgefield and Market Rasen last summer and jumped up the weights as a consequence. He has found life tough recently but has fallen to what looks like a fair mark so warrants respect. This is not the most competitive of races and Present Gale looks more than capable of following up on his most recent win.
