Agilete held on well when successful at Sandown over 1m2f last month but a 6lb penalty for that success and the longer trip makes this tough for Jeff Pearce's gelding to follow up and a safer option looks to be BEAU FIGHTER, who gets the verdict with Trip The Light rated the pick of the rest. The selection showed a liking for cut in ground when opening his account on his handicap debut at Newbury in May and Chris Wall's gelding was unable to reproduce a similar level of form back on faster ground at Goodwood the following month on his only subsequent start. Back on testing ground, the son of Tobougg looks worth siding with to resume winning ways. Jeremy Glover's 10-year-old Red Wine should have no problems with the underfoot conditions but he may be a shade high in the weights following his narrow success at Doncaster in May. Drawn Gold has been running consistently well but may not want the ground as testing as it is likely to be and of more interest may be Mae Cigan. Michael Blanshard's gelding is a proven performer under testing conditions, has slipped to a reasonable mark and he has solid claims. Like most of Richard Fahey's runners, Trip The Light, has been running well of late and the son of Fantastic Light has to be respected but he has yet to prove that he handles ground as soft as this and preference is for Beau Fighter.
