MAJOR PAYNE caught the eye on his debut and is taken to break his maiden tag on his second attempt while both King's Alchemist and Return To Glory are worthy of respect. The selection finished a decent second to The Jigsaw Man in a bumper at Stratford on his racecourse debut. That was a solid effort and that will have prepared him well for his hurdles debut. With a clear round he will be very difficult to oppose. King's Alchemist has more experience than most and performed well to win a novice event at Plumpton in April. He has run well in defeat in his last two runs but will struggle to score with his penalty so should be treated with some caution. Return To Glory has shown only a modest amount of ability in his five runs to date but top Irish trainer Tony Martin is always respected when bringing horses over the Irish Sea so any support in the market should be closely monitored. Major Payne looks the class act in the race and takes preference.
