Verdict

QUEEN EXCALIBUR should be good enough to win in this selling grade and is the preferred choice while both Needle Prick and Bundle Up warrant respect. The selection improved on her seasonal reappearance to finish a more than adequate second behind Pips Assertive Way here over four furlongs further. Her strike-rate is not great and she did disappoint in a recent flat run but if she can recapture her best form she is more than good enough to win a race of this nature. Needle Prick is blinkered for the first time after running well in this grade at Perth last time out. He has tumbled down the weights in recent seasons and could potentially be a well treated horse so any market moves should be noted. Bundle Up won a similar race at Huntington in May and was not discredited when finishing third in a better contest at Uttoxeter thereafter. She has disappointed on the flat most recently; however trainer John Flint has his small team of horses in good order at present so she is respected. Queen Excalibur has been frustrating to follow but she looks well treated and can win off her current mark.
