Alma Mater is worth another chance in this modest company, while Vivacita and Sadler's Leap can also go close. Optimistic Alfie has plenty of experience from the jumping game but has enough scope under this code to also merit consideration for at least a place. However, he is not the speediest type on show and needs everything to go his way. Sadler's Leap (in the assumed absence of Burntoakboy) sets what standard there is as far as the handicapper is concerned and, having proved versatile regarding the surface, she should not be underestimated. However, she has been beaten a long way in each of her last two starts, so now has something to prove. Vivacita made an encouraging start at Chepstow a fortnight ago and can be placed to good effect in due course. She is a well-bred type and it would be frustrating for her connections if she were not able to win a race. However, Alma Mater may be a touch too wily at this stage of their development and, considering Sir Mark Prescott's record with fillies of her type, this daughter of Sadler's Wells appears to have been found a good opportunity to get a paddocks boosting win registered in the form book.
