        Verdict

        This will probably work out between Pass The Port and Heathyards Pride, while Countrywide Luck can also be involved, and we take Pass The Port to be up to the task. The selection has his optimum conditions and trip here and holds his all weather form well across both surfaces. His latest win, when he beat Gibraltar Bay by a head over course and distance, suggested that he may be capable of following up in this less competitive contest with just 1lb more on his back. Heathyards Pride is a dual course and distance scorer here, but that was on the old surface, and he seems more at home with slightly slower ground. But he is in good form with a 1m 6f win at Southwell last time and can't be discounted here. Countrywide Luck makes his Wolverhampton debut, but handles this type of surface at Lingfield well enough. He can be thereabouts, though taking his form literally he will need to improve a few pounds to score, while Consonant is better over shorter than this. For the winner then, we return to Pass The Port.
