An awful contest to kick things off and we take Siena Star to be too good for Before The Mast, Southern Bazaar and Seraph. The selection, like most of these, is particularly difficult to catch right, but has at least been making the frame and runs to a certain level more often than not which at these weights mark him out as a leading player over a trip and on ground that suits. Before The Mast is 7lb higher than when winning a similar contest on soft ground at Uttoxeter last month. The handicapper has found him out since, but even he can get closer in this poor race. Southern Bazaar ran pretty well in the contest of this contest when behind Ball Games at Catterick last time out and if he can repeat that running he should be involved, while Seraph is entitled to be thereabouts judged on his latest outing here, though is arguably better over further. Not on to dwell on then and we take Siena Star to score.
