Zeloso is in good heart and can defy being 1lb out of the handicap by completing a December hat-trick, while Salhood can go well at the top end of the weights and both Bollin Annabel and Marsh Run can get involved. The selection is an obvious one, but there aren't many of these in a rich vein of form and everything points to him. Trip and ground suit, he has risen 9lb for his latest win, but that was decisive and he may still be ahead of the handicapper. Topweight Salhood has been dropping in class after disappointing of late. However, some of his previous form would make him a warm favourite at these weights and if Steve Gollings can get him back to anything like that then he can be competitive. Bollin Annabel will be better after a recent pipe opener and has the form from last season to suggest that she can give the selection something to think about, while Marsh Run has first-time blinkers applied. Trip and ground will suit him and his best form would mark him out as a contender, so watch for any market interest. But Zeloso is in fine fettle and can complete the hat-trick.
