Porters should be head and shoulders above these rivals and can take this novices' contest, with Opal Warrior and Phinerine most likely to scrap for the minors. The Richard Hannon-trained selection has gone close in better company on a similar surface at Lingfield on his last two starts, and although he has to give weight away, he should still have something in hand provided he reproduces that form on this different track. Opal Warrior was a ready winner at Southwell last time, but has also run well at Lingfield, so he should be able to handle this. The return to seven furlongs will suit and she can give the selection most to do. Phinerine was running on at the end of 6f at Lingfield last time, but failed on his only previous try at seven furlongs and still has to prove he can get home, while the market should be watched for any confidence behind William Haggas's debutante Kokila. The one for us here though is Porters.
