Punters are awarded with a hint of quality on a rather mundane card and COLOUR TROOPER is selected to make a victorious handicap debut and follow up on a battling maiden success at Lingfield, form of which was admittedly let down at this venue by the second last week. That maiden win was pleasing given the fact he had indicated some ability at Salisbury on his penultimate start. He looks a horse on the improve and a mark of 75 for his handicap debut does not look overly harsh. Lady Brora was ridden more prominently on her third start and that resulted in a good effort although the maiden did look week with the enigmatic Seventh Cavalry in third. Title Role is more exposed than most but is not handicapped out of it off 73 while Vineyard was far too keen at Sandown in soft ground last time. He should be seen in a better light back on this surface while St Trinians is one at a bigger price that could reward each way supporters. Colour Trooper is nominated to get punters out on a winning note.
