In depth

Verdict

Geordielad made all over today’s trip at Chelmsford at the start of the year but was caught in the closing stages by Tour de Paris over course and distance last time. The former re-opposes on better terms and the latter has subsequently been beaten back here. TOP ROCK TALULA won over 1m4f earlier and was beaten only a neck over the same distance at Lingfield last month. Warren Greatrex’ filly looks worth a try over today’s trip with an apprentice taking 5lb off her back and gets the vote. Demophon finished runner-up over 2m last time but has yet to win in 18 starts on the Flat while the veteran Brigadoon has been beaten over hurdles recently but could go well back in this code.
