      Verdict

      DOUBNOV is a funny character as he's not always willing to go on and score but with terms in his favour in this claimer we'll give him the chance to get back on top ahead of Hypnotic Gaze and Corran Ard. Despite a poor effort in a handicap on his last start we keep faith with the pick because all of his UK successes have come at this sort of level. When it comes to close finishes it depends on which animal turns up but we'll take the chance he's up for it this time as he sets the standard. Hypnotic Gaze has six pounds of improvement to find based on the framing of this contest but having gone close over course and distance in a handicap off a mark of 68 two starts ago he is very much respected now dropped into this grade for the first time. Corran Ard has slightly less to find at the weights but his last two efforts leave him with plenty to prove while any return to form for Fifty Cents will have him bang in the picture. A pretty competitive claimer this and Doubnov is the one we choose despite a questionable attitude on occasions
