In depth

Verdict

ANQUETTA and Pendower look likely to dominate here and preference is for the former, with Grand Award fancied to chase them home in third. Nicky Henderson's son of Anshan comes here on the back of a solid debut over hurdles, filling second spot behind City Theatre. His previous bumper form reads well and with Barry Geraghty back in the saddle he looks sure to run well from a much more prominent position in the market. Also likely to be well-fancied is Pendower, a son of Presenting. He'll probably prefer the rain to stay away but he impressed with his attitude when winning a Newton Abbot bumper and is a danger on his hurdling bow 10 months on. In time he'll get three miles, but if the market is positive he looks one to fear. Honourable Dreamer will be handicapped after this start, Grand Award needs a market check on his hurdling debut with Robert Thornton booked for the ride, whilst Don't Tell Nina needs to improve on his first outing behind Talenti but could easily do so. Ceepeegee's good run behind Meath All Star at Wincanton looks no fluke so he is considered, however this prize can go to Anquetta.
