In depth

Verdict

The Evan Williams-trained Beautiful Vision has the highest rating of the five runners in this novices' chase being rated 122 and comes into the event in good form having won a selling hurdle at Ludlow last month but the Sedgefield novice chase winner may struggle back over fences today in giving weight to EYRE SQUARE, who gets the vote over Against The Wind. Lucinda Russell's gelding has shown some promise from limited opportunities in bumpers and over hurdles and needs to improve on all known form to trouble the judge but he may do better now switched to fences for the first time. James Moffatt's Dar Es Salaam won well in a handicap chase at Musselburgh in November but has struggled off his new mark since then and is likely to do so here under a penalty. Soul Angel has a lot of improvement to find to get involved and preference is for Eyre Square. Keith Reveley's gelding remains a maiden but he has shown a decent level of form over hurdles and in two starts over fences so looks worth chancing receiving weight from his main rival and with the yard in good heart.
