Verdict
Peter Monteith's St Killian's Run bounced back to winning ways when successful at Newcastle last week and he has every chance under a penalty for that win but the 7lb rise may anchor him and a better bet looks to be STORM SURGE, who gets the vote ahead of Troodos Jet. Dianne Sayer's gelding was a good winner at Sedgefield two starts ago when staying on well to beat Naval Attache and was not disgraced behind The Kealshore Kid on a return visit to the same venue last time so he has to be respected having been dropped 3lbs since his most recent start. Isla Pearl Fisher has only been placed once in nine outings and is hard to recommend with a bigger threat likely to come from Lerida, who has shown a consistent level of form and he can race off the same mark as when a close second to The Kealshore Kid at Sedgefield recently. Star Tenor is hard to recommend on recent form and a better bet looks to be Martin Todhunter's Storm Surge, who has been running consistently well of late and he can race off just a 1lb higher mark than when a close third to Bene Lad here last time.
