A very modest maiden to kick of proceedings and one that provides LASER RUBY an excellent chance to get off the mark. Andrew Balding's charge is the highest rated horse on display here with a BHA mark of 61 and there's little reason to question the accuracy of that figure as she took a close third in handicap company at Lingfield last time. That day she did shape as though a return to seven furlongs would suit better but against these the trip is of limited concern, while a first-time tongue-tie could also aide her cause. In contrast six furlongs is likely to prove far too sharp for La Chemme who will be handicapped after this run, so the biggest danger may be Ruler's Honour, who ran well two starts back at Kempton. Boy The Bell arrives on the back of a staying-on second but has had 18 chances already while Woodwind and Aurora Lights both have improving to do but are at least unexposed.
