In depth

Verdict

TARTAN GUNNA may be a short price, but deservedly so chasing a hat-trick, with the main dangers to completing that being Grand Honour and Captainrisk. Mark Johnston does well here, and the selection was a ready winner here a week ago when odds on in a better race over further. He's top weight carrying a penalty, but can defy that, and sets a decent standard. Grand Honour started life as a sprinter before being stepped up for his recent runs, but he's failed to make the frame at better grade. Captainrisk drops down from a mile and that's a positive; he's usually involved but keeps finding one or two too good. He should find a race sooner rather than later, but probably not tonight, although a first time visor may do the trick. My Sweet Georgia is suddenly getting the hang of the game, and remains competitive with seven pound claimer Holly Hall on board. Her one success came at Southwell. Meydan Groove is well exposed now, and not capitalised on winning last summer at Leicester. Although she was a runner up here on her last appearance at the track in September, that was a weak seller. So, for the lucky last, all pointers suggest the one to be on is Tartan Gunna.
