Gallas is the pick here ahead of Always Flying, with Moon Shot and York Cliff seen as others in with a shout in a poor contest. This selling affair is well within the scope of Gallas who is still a maiden, but he so nearly opened his account at Yarmouth last time when coming from the back to get within a short-head of Get To The Point that he must surely go one better soon in this type of company. He handles this surface so there are no worries on that score, and with the apprentice taking seven-pounds off his back, Gallas can come good. Always Flying has won over the course and distance in the past, and is a capable dual-purpose performer on his day, but is beatable here on recent form, while Moon Shot has been campaigned over fences in the main. York Cliff has not won since 2001 but ran a fair race to be second in classified company at Windsor in June and has a squeak if repeating that run, but Gallas is lumbered with the vote.
