Sedge is selected to add to his course and distance win a fortnight ago, with Colourful Era, Beveller and Wendy's Girl the other leading players. Sedge was having only his second outing since October when overcoming trouble in running to score over the track and trip a fortnight ago, and must be supported to follow up. He was unlucky on more than one occasion on Turf last season and was well supported on his return over an inadequate six furlongs. Having made amends with the trip in his favour, there is no reason why he should not defy a four-pound rise, and with Tony Culhane once again doing the steering, he is the one to beat. Colourful Era won plenty of races in Hong Kong and shaped very well on his first outing for David Bridgewater when third on the same day that the selection obliged here. As that was his first outing in seven months, he should improve and can give Sedge most to do. Beveller has a good draw and Wendy's Girl is fairly consistent, but none make as much appeal as Sedge who is taken to follow up.
