Roman Maze is poised to strike and gets the nod over Zoom Zoom, Ali Bruce and Global Achiever. All three of Roman Maze's career victories have come at Dunstal Park, and after two very good efforts at Lingfield lately, he will be a popular choice to get back to winning ways under Shane Kelly. Drawn in stall five, he should have the race set up for a late charge, although he does go equally as well from the front. Either way, he will surely be in at the finish and can prove too strong for Zoom Zoom who is expected to make the pace. He did nothing wrong when getting back to winning ways here in January and is highly thought of by trainer Linda Stubbs who hopes that he will be good enough to land a decent sprint handicap this year now that he is over his problems. Ali Bruce pays his first visit here and has not raced over this short a trip before so should be watched in the market, while Global Achiever appreciated the drop to claiming company last time and may find this tougher. Roman Maze has plenty going for him and is the pick in the finale.
