In race three, our choice is Evident Pride ahead of Casual Affair and Signal Hill. Evident Pride probably met a fair type when beaten in a maiden here on only his third run and, having suggested there that tonight's longer trip would suit, he can go well this evening. Casual Affair ran pretty well over a longer trip here last time on her first try on the surface. The shorter trip and a little less use being made of her should see her give a good account of herself, while it will be interesting to see how Another Genepi fares at this longer trip tonight. Beldon Hill's best run so far has come at this venue, and Kalatime is dropping in distance today, which is slightly surprising, although on bare form he looks a leading player. Signal Hill keeps knocking at the door and ran pretty well on his first try here last time so has to be respected, while Shy Glance, who should act on the surface, is another to consider. Finally, the remaining three - Great Chieftain, Digger Boy and Floodlight Fantasy - all hold claims in what is a competitive maiden handicap. The one that can walk away disqualified from running in such races again could be Evident Pride.
