An awful contest which should concern those who at least have previous experience, namely Champuloc, Gay Romance and Intimate Friend, and we take the latter to score. Gay Kelleway's filly has plenty in hand on these on official ratings and it will be interesting to see how she handles this surface on her first attempt. Her trainer has a good record at the track though and knows what it takes and in a race we could ponder all day, we will take a chance on her to small stakes. Both Champuloc and Gay Romance also have ability and have contested better races than this in their time. The air can go well, though perhaps with experience on softer ground in Ireland, Champuloc can get the better of that battle. Little else makes any appeal and our tentative choice here is Intimate Friend.
