Not a very good contest this, and Honest Injun can take the prize, with Russian Symphony and Blue Mariner others who can go well. The selection was a course and distance winner on his only previous appearance at Dunstall Park, and can enjoy his return. Since that maiden he has not managed to add to his tally, but he is worth his mark of 74 and his efforts to be runner-up with cut in the ground at Newmarket and Leicester mark him out as a leading player here. He has a couple of ordinary efforts over hurdles to come back from, but we are prepared to take a chance on him. Russian Symphony broke his duck over course and distance last time and had performed with credit in this sort of company on his previous run. He clearly goes well on the surface and is very much respected, though he may not have the ability of the selection. There are a few others c and d winners here, but Blue Mariner, who landed a nine furlong contest here in October, is interesting from 2lb higher now back on this surface from Lingfield, and he could go well. Nevertheless Honest Injun will appreciate the return to the level and is the one for us.
