In depth

Verdict

This could rest between recent winners Buscador and Lord Of Dreams, with the last named just getting the decision, Kings Topic may do best of the others. David Arbuthnot's four-year-old took advantage of a lenient handicap mark to beat Port n Starboard over course and distance last time. He started the season off a mark of 70 and so still looks well treated and a follow up looks on the cards. Liam Jones outsmarted his rivals with a canny front-running ride aboard Buscador, who stole his race from the front to record his seventh career victory over this course and distance. The other riders will be aware to him this afternoon, but he will be difficult to pass once again. King's Topic hasn't raced since winning here last May, if fit from his extended holiday he should make his presence felt. The rest appear mainly out of form and so we return to Lord Of Dreams for the likely winner.
