In a run-of-the-mill maiden, Escape Clause is selected ahead of Chasing Dream and Just Logic. The best of Escape Clause's maiden efforts rate in the low 80s, which is more than good enough to see him as a major player in a fairly low-key affair. Chasing A Dream has show promise too, including on her debut here, and she has to be short-listed, but next best in the ratings stakes is Jeremy Noseda's Just Logic on 70 and he holds an each-way shout. Red Countess has shown promise in each Newbury start and is a little hard to gauge after a break but cannot be ruled out. Networker steps up in trip, but it will need to help markedly, while Weet For Ever did show some promise in the summer and he might be competitive for a place too, and Crystal Annie made some late headway last time and could improve again. Finally, in the hands of Michael Jarvis, Greytown is a potential improver but, for the selection, we return to Escape Clause.
