        Verdict

        A wide open handicap gets proceedings underway and there is very little between many of the leading lights but the principals look to be Sovereignty, Chief Exec and Convivial Spirit and the narrow vote is given to Sovereignty. The selection was third behind Chief Exec last time out but is weighted to gain his revenge and from a fair draw he looks the one to be on. Chief Exec is sure to have his supporters but looks vulnerable under his penalty and he has the worst of the draw. Convivial Spirit is another worthy of respect on his latest second behind Safari Sundowner but he is becoming hard to win with and again he is opposed. Of the remainder Samuel Charles is sure to run his race but he now looks weighted up to his best and for the winner we return to Sovereignty.
