VALID POINT can continue to defy the handicapper and it looks as if Strike Force and Fantasy Ride as the dangers. Having sunk to a basement figure, Sir Mark Prescott's charge looks to have discovered the art of winning and after defying a penalty at Beverley with the minimum of fuss, an additional penalty shouldn't stop him from landing the hattrick. Strike Force could have won more races were it not for some of the rather conservative tactics that have been tried in amateur riders events. It will be interesting to see what obtains under more skilled handling. Fantasy Ride has been a regular at Yarmouth. He did win off a mark of 58 in January 2008 and is now rated just 50. View From The Top was rated in the mid-70's when trained by Sir Mark Prescott though has clearly regressed since. Benitez Bond has been unable to follow up upon a fair effort at Southwell earlier in the season. King's Icon has been exposed as moderate but as he hails from a particularly shrewd yard, any market moves should not be ignored. It all concerns Valid Point in the finale and he is sure to be priced up accordingly.
