Phantom Flame is a tentative choice, with Prince Prospect, Wodhill Folly, Haithem and Debbie all likely to take a hand in proceedings. Mark Johnston found it difficult to place Phantom Flame throughout last year, both on Turf and the all-weather, but as a result, the gelding's mark has dropped considerably. He finally showed a hint of promise when fifth over seven furlongs here three weeks ago, on what was his first outing since November, and will strip fitter for this step up in trip. Prince Prospect made all under Gary Stevens to win at Sandown as a three-year-old, but has found his level on an artificial surface since then, his latest winning effort coming here on Boxing Day. He needs a strong ride, so lets hope that he gets it from Kristin Stubbs. Wodhill Folly will lack for nothing in the saddle, as he has the assistance of Ian Mongan. Fourth to Najaaba here on 16 January with Debbie behind, he might sneak a place, but we shall put up Phantom Place as the pick.
