It will be interesting to see if there is any market support for Kevin Ryan's reappearing Safebreaker, who has his first outing since finishing a close third behind Bollin Dolly at Pontefract in October and he has to be respected racing off a 1lb lower mark today but a better bet may be AUREATE, who can reverse earlier running with Kames Park. Richard Guest's gelding comes into this in good heart having won here last month, when beating the selection, prior to finding just one too good when reversing running with Admirable Duque last time and he has to be strongly considered but Aureate is 3lbs better in for the length and a half that separated the pair last month and can reverse that form. John Quinn's Ahmedy ran much better when chasing home Accompanist last time in January and makes more appeal than the consistent Benedict Spirit, who represents the in-form David Evans stable but does keep on finding at least one too good. Jennie Candlish's Tropical Blue is another to be considered but he remains a maiden after 14 starts and a better bet looks to be Aureate.
