In depth

Verdict

The first division of this handicap may not be as competitive as the numbers suggest with only a few of the 13 runners having serious claims on recent form and while few are going better than Bryan Smart's Positivity at present, his form on artificial surfaces has all been on the Fibresand at Southwell, and a better bet looks to be KIELTY'S FOLLY, who gets the vote ahead of Well Of Echoes. Alan McCabe's filly resumed winning ways when landing a seller here last month when getting the better of Geezers Colours and he has to be respected back in a handicap, although a 6lb penalty for that selling race win does make this harder. Mick Channon's Alfredtheordinary deserves to get his head in front having been running consistently well in defeat of late but he may be a shade high in the weights and of more interest may be Harare, who ran much better when chasing home Global Village here last time and he is 1lb lower in the weights today. Preference though is for Brian Baugh's Kielty's Folly, who has been running well in recent starts and he has an obvious chance off just a 2lb higher mark than when a close second behind By Command here last time.
