Verdict

BUCKIE BOY has the edge on form here, with Assail and Stellar Cause the others taken to fill the frame. There are a number of newcomers in the field and the market should be heeded to help assess their chances. Stellar Cause hails from the Paul Cole camp and he has had his share of notable winners. Stellar Cause showed distinct ability before tiring at Newbury on the soft ground on debut, and can benefit from the experience. Assail has been placed twice on the Southwell all-weather, made favourite for his second start. The yard is going well, and it would be no surprise to see Assail play a part in the finish. Having been outpaced on his debut, Buckie Boy turned in a much improved effort next time, setting a strong pace, and only caught close home by a more seasoned campaigner up the Sandown hill. Buckie Boy can make the running once more, and this easier track can play to his strengths.
