In what does not seem a strong affair, we will side with Summer Charm ahead of Alessano, Queen's Dancer and Caribbean Dancer. The selection seems reasonably weighted on what she has so far achieved and is also one of the few that has form solid enough for the handicapper to get to grips with. Her third to Bulwark at Warwick last time is, as we say, solid enough, and she should run her race today. Alessano ran creditably on his Turf debut over course and distance last time and can be competitive for a place once again. Terminate, a dual all-weather winner, was behind him in that race. It is hard to assess Queen's Dancer based on a Hamilton maiden win, which came on soft going, while it would be no surprise to see Mark Johnston's Caribbean Dancer show up in what is, on the face of things, a modest event. Hughie Morrison's Hawk Arrow is among those that are possible dark horses but, with many of the others having been lightly-raced, it might pay to keep an eye on the betting but, once again, for the winner, we look to Summer Charm.
