Verdict

Fort Dignity caught the eye at Newmarket last time and can score here at the main expense of Pentecost and Shot To Fame. The Sir Michael Stoute-trained selection ran a blinder on his seasonal return to finish fourth in the Feilden Stakes behind Norse Dancer, Hurricane Alan and Valixir. That is solid form and, given that he looks to have improved this year, he looks set to go well in this contest. A Group 3 winner at Ascot in July, Shot To Fame holds obvious claims, although he has been penalised for that win and, if you work on lines through Hurricane Alan, who was third at Ascot, the selection is favoured by the weights. By the same token, Pentecost, who was fourth at Ascot, is eight pounds better off for the length that he finished behind Shot To Fame on that occasion. From the Godolphin camp, Blatant has to be respected, although his stable has yet to get going this season and his more-recent efforts need improving upon. That said, Frankie Dettori has elected to ride their other runner, the lightly-raced Tashkandi. Finally, with Take A Bow needing to find some improvement, we return to the selection, which is Fort Dignity.
