12 of the 16 runners here have distance wins to their name and a further three have course and distance victories and it is distance winner PATAVIUM PRINCE who stands out from the crowd and should have the beating of Gold Express and Royal Envoy. The selection returns to the turf today after a brief spell on the all weather. He placed second last time out at Lingfield in a race that was run to suit. That said it was a much improved performance on his two previous starts over all weather tracks and will have prepared him well for his return to turf. The gelding was in great form on the grass back in late 2008, his last win came in August and the form shows the six-year-old runs well on a return to the turf. Gold Express was a winner at Kempton at the last time of asking. That was back in November but the gelding is a consistent sort and has good attitude so should at least make the frame here. The form of Royal Envoy on the all weather has been much better than that of his form on the turf of 2008. He returns to the turf here and if his form of the early part of last year, where he was the winner on four separate occasions, can be regained then he will at lease make the frame here. He is versatile with regard to distance but needs a strongly run race to be seen at his best. Of the rest course and distance winners Fromsong and Minebehind had most appeal but market referral is advised. Our selection then is Patavium Prince.
