There is no form for backers to go on here with each of the nine runners making their first appearance on a racecourse so what can only be a tentative vote goes to early Johannesburg foal RED JAZZ from the in-form Barry Hills stable and he gets the verdict ahead of Barton Chancer and Thomas Baines. Like the selection, Michael Bell's colt is a February born son of Johannesburg and also comes from a yard that has started the season in fair form so he has to be respected. Richard Hannon's two-year-olds are always worthy of consideration and his runner here Flapjack is no exception, while Greenore Gordon may prefer a softer surface but Malcolm Saunders has his string going well. Bill Turner has traditionally done well with his youngsters early season so Barton Chancer, a daughter of Dubai Destination, has to be respected but it is Red Jazz that gets the vote.
