Desert Dreamer disappointed under testing conditions at Sandown last time and may do better under today's ground tonight but he is hard to recommend on recent evidence and a safer bet looks to be Abwaab, with Fromsong rated the pick of the remainder. The selection was all out to win over course and distance last month but Eve Johnson Houghton's gelding stepped up considerably on his reappearance run when landing that contest and, with more improvement to come, he looks worth backing off just a 3lb higher mark. Paul Howling's Figaro Flyer looks to be going the right way but may just be a shade high in the weights, while the consistent His Master's Voice may again have to settle for a minor role. The Clive Cox-trained Briannsta is probably better than recent form would suggest but a bigger threat seems likely to come from Dean Ivory's Fromsong who has slipped to a decent mark. Abwaab is open to further improvement though and is taken to record a second course and distance success of the campaign.
