Mazzanti gets the vote over Whiskey Creek and Gainshare, with Blue Cross Boy and Chain Of Gold others to note. The last named pair see the racecourse for the first time, but will be expected to do well for their respective connections. Blue Cross Boy runs in Graham Wylie's flat colours of Transcend Bloodstock, while Chain Of Gold sports the now familiar green silks of John Fretwell whose juveniles always pay to follow. However, today we lean towards the slightly more experienced Mazzanti, a promising fourth on his Leicester debut a fortnight ago. He raced widest of all that day, and did well to finish as close as he did, picking up really well late on, and with normal improvement should prove hard to beat. Whiskey Creek also shaped with a degree of promise at Haydock, although he did not impress as much as the selection, while Gainshare was putting in all his best work at the finish when fourth at Newcastle, and will appreciate the stiff finish here, so has to be considered. For the winner though, we return to Mazzanti, entered up in some big sales races later in the year, and expected to open his account en-route.
