A fairly competitive contest with a number of in-form rivals in opposition. They include Martin Pipe's Bongo Fury who has proved a model of consistency having finished in the first two in all of her eight starts over hurdles. Amongst her four wins was an easy all-the-way 13-lengths victory over older rivals in a Sandown novice event last time and she gets the vote on her return to handicap company off a fair mark. Just Murphy, a useful winning handicapper on the Flat, has shown plenty of ability over hurdles and remains capable of further progress so enters calculations despite top weight. Wuxi Venture comes here in good heart following his battling success at Bangor last month but had nothing to spare and may struggle to follow up off a 6lb higher mark. Charlie Swan does well with his Irish raiders but The Dark Flasher has been below his best of late while former compatriot Best Wait is best watched after disappointing when last seen out in October. Recent Taunton novice winner Kalco Mome had his limitations exposed in handicap grade last time and looks to be in the grip of the assessor at present.
