mid-division, ridden halfway, some headway over 1f out, never dangerous
hampered start, held up, headway over 2f out, led 1f out, ridden out
prominent, led halfway, headed over 1f out, no extra
mid-division, weakened over 1f out
went right start, soon chasing leaders, effort over 1f out, soon one pace
behind, some headway over 1f out, never on terms
awkward, hampered start, always behind
steadied start, mid-division, hard ridden over 2f out, never on terms
led, headed halfway, weakened final furlong
chased leaders, led over 1f out, headed inside final furlong, kept on
chased leaders, raced wide over 2f out, stayed on, never able to challenge
slowly away, always behind
in touch, raced keenly, driven over 2f out, soon weakened
Leonid Glow rates as a solid bet in this fillies' handicap; the others for the shortlist include Regal Veil and Miss Firefly. The selection lost no caste in defeat last time when she chased home Cassie's Choice at Catterick and she could be well-treated today for her handicap debut. Regal Veil has been knocking on the door of late and the yard are very shrewd so she is definitely one to note in the market. Miss Firefly has looked a hard ride in the past so it will be interesting to see if her young rider can get a good tune out of her today. She is relatively unexposed but she has yet to prove what her best trip is and she has questions to answer. Ian Wood had a welcome winner on Friday so his filly Easy Wonder is of interest, especially with Seb Sanders booked to take the ride. However, Leonid Glow is in good form and she can land the prize.
