Barney Curley has made better judges than this one look foolish in the past, but we will take on his Le Soleil here with c&d winner Royal Flynn, while Lady Edge is interesting and Rotuma can go well. Royal Flynn showed a penchant for track, trip and cut in the ground when defeating Yenaled in a driving finish here last month. His effort in very tiring ground at Newcastle the other day was certainly no disgrace and with almost an extra furlong to his advantage here he looks sure to go well. Le Soleil has proven stamina on her side and has handled cut when winning at Folkestone in April. However, she now looks to be in the grip of the handicapper and we will oppose her on that basis. Lady Edge handled the track well when winning here over a mile last month, but this is a marked step up and he pedigree suggests she might struggle to get home, while Rotuma has conditions and trip to suit but is perhaps no longer capable of winning from this mark and may have to settle for a place behind our selection Royal Flynn.
